Melanie began her creative journey at Otis College of Art and Design, the #1 fashion design school on the west coast, where she earned a BFA degree. During her studies, Melanie earned full scholarship and was twice awarded the “Best Designer of the Year”. Due to her excellent performance, Melanie was chosen to work with legendary fashion gurus such as Rob Beattie (on premium swimwear), Bob Mackie (on luxury evening gowns), and Giorgio Armani (on luxury women wear). Upon graduation, Melanie was quickly recruited by Abercrombie & Fitch (A&F), where she spent 6 years leading accessory designs for four of Abercrombie’s brands – Ruehl, Abercrombie & Fitch, Abercrombie kids, and Hollister. Melanie’s creative talent and outstanding work ethic enabled her fast-promotion through the ranks from Assistant Designer to Senior Designer. Her time at A&F was defined by helping to shape the dress code for American teenagers and to play a crucial part in A&F’s cultural phenomenon during the millennium decade.
